The detrimental impact of climate change on people’s life must be addressed at every workplace. At IndianAppDevelopers, the irreplaceable responsibility of caring for the environment makes its way into the way we work, policy decisions that impact energy utilization and the way we manage waste. Over the years, we have created an environment-friendly work culture that encourages reducing energy footprint and smarter waste management.

We continue to improve the way we operate by trying to:
Safe, usable workplaces
good air circulation, proper lighting and furniture that does not hurt people after long hours, make our workplaces healthy and efficient.
Optimizing energy use
We cut energy use where it makes sense. We frequently upgrade old kit, turn off unused gear, pick efficient replacements when they are the smart choice.
Sort and recycle
We encourage separate waste collection and reuse when we can.
Regular sustainability measures
We make sustainability part of the daily routine. Remind people to print less, and suggest bikes or public transport for short trips.
Most of these above-mentioned energy saving measures and priorities have been adopted through our administrative policies and are meticulously followed and monitored. One example dates back to 2011, when we started a simple collection system for used batteries, bulbs, and accumulators. Employees often bring items from home when there is no proper recycling facility in their area.
A significant part of energy usage in IT comes from servers and workstations. When we began replacing older hardware with modern blade servers and pushed more aggressively into virtualization during 2010–2011, the drop in power usage was noticeable.
We also make sure that less number of machines run continuously so that the need for cooling can also be reduced. Altogether, these measures helped us optimize our workplace infrastructure around energy efficiency.
We believe that environment-friendly workplace measures do not need to be a large-scale standalone project. Instead, following some principles in day-to-day habits can make a viable impact. Here are some of these habits that we encourage in our workplaces:
Relying more on electronic documents rather than paper printouts.
Choosing bicycles or public transport instead of driving where it makes sense.
Turning off lights and screens instead of leaving them running without reason.
Reducing single-use materials in the office and choosing better alternatives where possible.
None of this solves the global climate crisis by itself. But it is honest progress, step by step and we plan to continue improving the way we operate, learning and adjusting along the way.
Environmental responsibility is not about perfection. It is about trying, consistently, and refusing to look the other way.
